Driving from Lochmaddy Ferry Terminal (approx. 30-35 minutes) 24 miles:
 

• Leave the ferry terminal and head north-west onto the A867

• Continue on the A867

• After around 8 miles, turn left onto the A865 (signposted for Benbecula / South Uist)

• Follow the A865 south across the causeways

• After approximately 12 miles, turn left onto the B891, a left turn signposted Hacklett, Peter's Port, Uskivagh. Follow the road for approximately 2 miles.

• At the Red phone box at Hacklett, take the next left turn, then continue and follow the local road (Kilerivagh) for about a mile and half.

• Stop at the next red phone box, as you will have reached Bothan by the Bay, turn right behind the old ruin to the designated car parking area.

​Driving from Lochboisdale Ferry Terminal (approx. 30-35 minutes) 24 miles:
 

• Leave the ferry terminal and head north-west on the A865 (signposted for Benbecula)

• Continue on the A865 for around 20 miles, passing through the island causeways, pay attention to the causeway that leaves South Uist to Benbecula, follow that road passed the Co-op (you may want to pick up supplies) this area is called Creagorry.  Continue on this road until you come to a right turn signposted Hacklett, Peter's Port, Uskivagh. Follow the road for approximately 2 miles.

• At the Red phone box at Hacklett, take the next left turn, then continue follow the local road (Kilerivagh) for about a mile and half.

• Stop at the next red phone box, as you will have reached Bothan by the Bay, turn right behind the old ruin to the designated car parking area.
